Smart switches have a built-in radio so they can be controlled by an app. They can also be turned on and off manually at the wall just like the dumb switches we grew up with.
Don’t Crowd the Wifi
Wifi performance quickly degrades with more than a handful of smart devices on the network. It’s best to use a separate zwave or zigbee network so your wifi and your smart devices run like they should.
